Albums

The discography of American rock group Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and a number of compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed, members of the band performed sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in the year 1976 in the wake of the collaboration.

The third album of Toto, Turn Back, marked an abrupt departure from the progressive sound of their earlier efforts and was criticized for its lack of hit singles. In 1985, lead singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group, and the group held auditions for a new frontman. The band picked guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The band went through old tapes and recordings to create the unique record. The album was well received by fans, and the band embarked on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.

Shem Von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as drummer on the tour in support of the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set called Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour and an interview with the group.
