We consulted Ladina Schopf - interior designer, architect, and founder of LS Projects - for her advice on how to choose the right one. They evaluated storage capacity, layout, energy efficiency, and other aspects.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Like its name implies, GE’s Profile series is targeted at people who want to integrate cutting-edge features in their kitchens. This fridge is loaded with features, from an in-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a smart water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Since this refrigerator is an extra amount, I'd like to see higher quality.

This fridge is a great option, despite the slight blip. It boasts a spacious freezer compartment, which what is fridge in french uncommon in counter-depth French door refrigerators. Additionally, it can hold a decent amount of frozen food when as compared to similar models.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range. This includes Wi-Fi as well as app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app is available on iOS and Android devices and allows you to control your refrigerator from any place in the globe. It also offers many options for customization. It also alerts you when doors are left open, when your fridge or freezer needs defrosting and when it's time to change the filter.

It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill it's an option in a few other GE refrigerators that allows you to choose how many cups of water you'd like to pour out at once. Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Designed to look like a seamless part of your kitchen Bosch's French door refrigerator is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also features a veggie compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer periods, and two compressors for preserving food items. The ice maker is one of the most efficient we've ever tested, and it produces a pyramid-shaped form of ice with a low use of water. This fridge is the perfect option for households with a single member or kitchenettes who want a built-in look and top-of-the-line food preservation.

This fridge was rated as the best in our Refrigerators Test for several reasons. Its freezer temperatures remained constant at just above 0°F and never changed by more than a fraction, this is crucial to avoid the risk of a freezer burn. The fridge's refrigerator section also performed well, achieving the desired initial set temperature within a matter of hours and keeping that temperature steady over the course of our testing.

Bosch is known for its top-of-the-line appliances which is why it's no surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance that has the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi as well as Bosch's Home Connect platform. This app lets you monitor and control your refrigerator remotely from your tablet or smartphone. The fridge is expensive, but offers great features and functionality at a reasonable cost.

While the fridge is a fantastic appliance however, it is important to understand the limitations. You might need to be creative with tall objects because the fridge is limited in shelf space. The shelves are not spillproof and can easily be damaged or stained by sharp objects. It is easy to take out the trays from the fridge However, be sure to clean them frequently to prevent the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S is a great counter-depth refrigerator that packs plenty of storage into a compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge is built with an ordinary French door layout, with two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded in order to create more space for taller items. There's also a full-width storage drawer for products from the deli and an inside water dispenser.

One of the great features of this refrigerator is that its ice maker is in the freezer, which makes it easy to transfer the ice to the refrigerator to be used when it is required. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, as well, such as sliding drawers that help to organize the place of your items. It has a large bin to store frozen food items, and a separate container for ice.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It allows you to control the fridge's temperature, lighting, and more via your smartphone. It's a great method of monitoring and managing your refrigerator, especially if you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn't enhance the efficiency of the fridge. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge than some of the others we tested. This is probably due to its greater capacity.

The doors pose a problem with this fridge. They have handles that are sunken on the front that allow smaller people to pull them open from the bottom, however they're still difficult for taller people to steer shut without slamming them. It would have been better if they had a front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a good choice for those who want to combine the benefits of a fridge with a french door fridge or side by side door with a more efficient layout. It has a capacity that is superior to counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also a little less than the top counter depth refrigerator with an icemaker, which makes it a desirable choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire french door fridge counter depth door refrigerator is a good option for those looking for a French-door refrigerator that doesn't cost a lot of budget. It's a minimalist design that isn't as striking visually as some of the competition, but it has enough features to make it a solid pick. Its most important feature is the temperature adjustable drawer that helps keep food items like veggies and meat fresher for longer. It also comes with a large ice maker as well as a water dispenser.

The "Chill Drawer", which is located over the two crisper bins, is a great feature. This drawer lets you direct a portion of the refrigerator's cooling power to this area, so that you can store foods which need extra attention. This feature is adjustable using a slider located outside the drawer. It is also possible to use this to set a general cooling setting for the whole fridge, though I've found that adjusting the general settings tends to be more effective than specific ones.

During my tests, the refrigerator's temperatures stayed fairly consistent across different areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the fridge didn't differ significantly from 38 degrees. This is a pretty good performance, but it doesn't quite make it into the top ten in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to an intelligent thermometer to get more precise readings of your fridge's temperature.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of grey-bodied stainless with a "smudge proof" finish. It does a great job of repelling fingerprints and streaks, even compared to shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
