The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator has all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator within this price range. It has Wi-Fi as well as app support, and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and has many options for customizing. It also sends you notifications when a door is left open, when your fridge or freezer is in need of defrosting, and when it's time to change the filter.

It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill which is an option that is available in other GE refrigerators that allows you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to dispense at a time. It does offer an indicator on the fridge display to display how much water you have left, but it's not as useful as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Created to appear like a seamless piece of your kitchen Bosch's French door refrigerator is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also features a veggie compartment which keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer and two compressors for preserving food. The Ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient and produces the shape of a pyramid using only water. This fridge is perfect for a single household or a kitchenette with an elegant design and top of the best food preservation.

This refrigerator was rated as the top in our Refrigerators Test due to a variety of reasons. The freezer temperatures remained steady at just a few degrees Fahrenheit, and never moving by more than a fraction one degree. This is crucial to avoiding freezer burn. The refrigerator section of the fridge also performed well. It reached the initial temperature within a matter of hours, and maintained that temperature throughout our testing.

It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the refrigerator has a standard French-door layout with gallon-sized door bins on each door as well as two rows of shelves that capture spills and a set sleeker drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded in order to create more space for tall items. There's also a full-width storage drawer for products from the deli and an inside water dispenser.

One of the best features of this refrigerator is that its ice maker is in the freezer, making it easy to transfer frozen ice to the fridge to use as required. The freezer features thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers to help you better organize the placement of your items. It also has a large container for storing frozen food and a separate one for ice.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat however it doesn't enhance the performance of the fridge. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge than some of the others we tested. This is likely due to the bigger capacity.

Another issue with the doors of this refrigerator. They have handles that are sunken on the front, which allow shorter people to easily open them from the bottom, however they're still difficult for taller people to guide shut without slamming them. It would have been much better if they had front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent choice for those looking to combine the look and feel of a French-door refrigerator with an efficient design. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model, and it cools evenly and has a great layout. It's also less expensive than the best counter-depth refrigerator that has an ice maker, which helps make it a desirable choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a great choice when you're looking for a French door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It's a basic refrigerator that might not be as eye-catching as some of its competitors however, it does have enough features to make a good choice. Its most important feature is the adjustable temperature drawer which helps keep food items like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser, as well as an excellent Ice machine that is fast.

The "Chill Drawer", which is located above the two crisper bins, is a great feature.
