For instance in the epic poem Odyssey in which Menelaus and his comrades were disguised in seal skins, a goddess wearing ambrosia ascended from heaven to overpower the toxic smell.

Ambrosia, a food reserved for Olympian Gods, oscar reys was utilized in rituals to help to differentiate between immortality and mortality. It was also a symbol of divine perfection which is illustrated in the myth of Achilles who was anointed with ambrosia by his mother Thetis to make him immortal.
