We contacted Ladina Schopf - interior designer, architect, and founder of LS Projects - for her advice on how to choose the right home. They considered the capacity of storage, layout, and energy efficiency among other features.

Like its name implies, the GE Profile series is targeted at people who want to incorporate cutting-edge technology into their kitchens. The fridge is equipped with 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is standard for a French-door fridge at this price. It has a decent sized icemaker in the left door. However it's not the biggest one I've seen.

You can adjust the shelves in both compartments for an individual storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive, too. The LED lighting is a nice touch. The storage bins in the door have a third shelf which can be folded down to store large items. The drawers include temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. The drawers are simple to shut and open, but I found the textured plastic coatings a bit hard on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator has all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator within this price range. It has Wi-Fi as well as app support, and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app is available for iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from any place around the world. It also has many options for customization. It will also send notifications when the door is unlocked as well as when the freezer or fridge requires defrosting, and when the filter needs to be changed.

It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill, an option available in a few other GE refrigerators that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to dispense at once. It does offer a countdown on the display of the fridge to display how much water have remaining, but that's not as useful as Precise Fill.

The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also comes with a veggie compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher longer, and two compressors for maximum preservation of food. The Ice maker is among the most efficient we've ever tested and produces a pyramid-shaped ice that is low in water usage. This fridge is ideal for a small household or kitchenette that needs an attractive design and top of the highest quality food preservation.

This fridge was the top-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for various reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at a level that was just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, and never changing by more than a fraction one degree. This is crucial to avoiding freezer burn. The fridge's refrigerator section also performed well, achieving the desired temperature for initial set within an hour and maintaining the temperature constant over the course of our tests.

Bosch is known for its top-quality appliances. It's therefore no surprise that the Bosch counter depth fridge can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch's platform Home Connect. This app allows you to monitor and control the refrigerator remotely using your tablet or smartphone. The refrigerator is pricey however, it offers excellent features and functionality at a reasonable price.

While the fridge is an incredible piece of equipment however, it is important to understand the limitations. It has a limited space for shelves, so you'll need to be creative when storing tall items. The shelves are also not resistant to spills and are easily damaged or stained by sharp objects. It is easy to take out the trays in the fridge, but be sure to keep them clean to avoid the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

One of the best things about this refrigerator is that its ice maker is inside the freezer, making it easy to move ice into the fridge for use when needed. The freezer is designed with thoughtful elements, as well, such as sliding drawers that help better organize the position of items. It also has a huge bin that can hold plenty of frozen food and an ice storage bin.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can control the temperature, lighting, and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's a great way to control and monitor your refrigerator, especially if you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat however it doesn't enhance the performance of the fridge. The fridge took a bit longer to chill food and defrost it than other models we tested. This could be due to its larger capacity.

The doors are a different issue with this refrigerator. The handles with a sunken design allow shorter people to open them from the bottom. However taller people will have a hard time closing them without slamming them. It would have been much better if they had front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is a great choice for those looking to blend the look and feel of a French-door refrigerator with more efficient design. Its capacity is superior for a counter-depth model, and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It's also a little less than the most expensive counter depth refrigerator that comes with an ice maker, which makes it a desirable option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good choice for those looking for a French-door fridge that won't break the budget. It has a simple design that's not as striking visually as other models, but it has enough features that make it a great option. Its main feature is the temperature adjustable drawer which helps keep food items like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large ice maker and a water dispenser.

Another feature that is worth mentioning is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. The drawer allows you to divert some of the fridge's cooling power directly to this area, which means you can keep food items that require special attention. This feature can be adjusted by using a slider on the outside of the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the general settings work better than the specific ones.

During my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across all areas of the refrigerator. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary significantly from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. This is a good performance but does not quite make it to the top of our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also pair this fridge with a smart thermometer for more precise measurements of your fridge's internal temperature.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from grey-bodied stainless with a "smudge proof" finish. It does an excellent job of repelling fingerprints and streaks even when compared with shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
