When I tested the Jet Bot, it picked up a lot of dust from my hardwood floors and carpets. It missed a few small pieces of furniture in the corner of my dining room and needed to go back over them however, it was very effective overall. Compared to the Roomba it took the win on my tests as its side brush was able to reach better on edges and was more effective in terms of removing smaller pieces of debris.

The Samsung Jet Bot is controlled through the SmartThings app and can be set up to automatically clean at times that are convenient for you. It can be programmed to clean specific areas or rooms. You can also set virtual no-go zones and physical ones.

It utilizes LiDAR sensors similar to those used by self-driving automobiles to map and navigate, plus a camera at the front for intelligent object recognition. This is a feature that helps to avoid collisions with furniture or other objects, and to find the most efficient route between rooms. It will also recognize any objects it believes are "poop", and make an educated guess.

The SmartThings app allows you to set up cleaning schedules, monitor the status of the robot, and keep track of what's happening on a map. The app can be configured to alert you when the bin becomes full. It will then return to its dock to empty itself, before continuing the cleaning process. The 0.3L dust bin is easy to empty and can be washed, as it's fully sealed to ensure it's clean.

The Roomba 980 from iRobot

The Roomba 980 is iRobot's top of the top of the line robot, and it's also the most expensive. It's also an excellent performer that easily puts itself in the same class as the top bagless self-emptying robot vacuum robot vacuums for its sheer cleaning power, thanks to its HEPA filter and powerful battery. It also comes with a clever little feature called CarpetBoost that automatically boosts power when the vacuum senses that it's on carpet.

This model is like previous models in that it has an oval frame with a clear window on top with a camera. The camera is what provides this model with real smarts. It makes use of the camera in order to perform VSLAM (Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) by identifying distinct features in a space and then storing the features. It combines the information with data from the relative positioning gyro and IMU, as well as wheel odometry to create an image of the location of the camera.

It's a clever system, and it does pretty well on carpets, where the Roomba generally has a longer time than on hard surfaces. The 980 also has other clever features, like the ability to create an annual cleaning routine and play a sound to help you find your robot. There's a large "Clean" button on the front of the device that will get your robot started up, and there are also indicators to show when it's charging or connected to Wi-Fi, and when its bin is full.

If you're looking to tidy up a small mess, the 980 also comes with the ability to clean up spots that are fairly basic, though it doesn't cover as much ground as the most sophisticated options out there. Finally, if you've got wires that pose dangers to your robot, there's a virtual wall feature where you can place a barrier which tells it to not go near it.

The app that comes with the 980 is user-friendly and gives you a visual view of the tasks your robot is performing. You can also build schedules and play with other settings, such as bin capacity and reduced power mode.

The iRobot Roomba 960

The name iRobot is almost synonymous with robot vacuums and the $700 Roomba 960 is somewhere in the middle of the brand's large range. It's not as expensive as the flagship 980, yet it has many of the same features. It comes with the ability to use a camera for navigation and a mobile app that provides precise cleaning maps. It also comes with Virtual Wall which creates a barrier that the Roomba won't cross.

The 960 did well in our tests, especially on bare floors. It sucked up a lot of food crumbs, cat litter and tracked in dirt. It can also climb over obstacles such as table legs, stair runners and chair legs. It also took in pet fur, but it was unable to handle finer debris, such as baking soda.

The 960 is different from other Roomba models in that it has a separate dustbin to hold large pieces of debris. This makes it less requirement to maintain it. You can empty the bin by pressing a button through the iRobot Home app or with voice commands from Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

The iRobot HOME App allows you to customize every cleaning cycle. You can set the number passes and select from a variety of modes like edge clean, or a full room sweep. It will also send an alert when it's nearly to empty the dirt container.

The 960 is easy to use and has buttons on top and buttons that are accessible in the iRobot Home app, or through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It's also easy to maintain and has an indicator at the top that shows battery life and docking station that automatically transfers debris from the dirt compartment to the bin when you're ready to empty it. The iRobot HOME app can also show you the location of every object it has collected and also provides videos on how to do a variety of maintenance tasks. The 960's battery life isn't the best robot vacuum And mop combo with self empty, but it's still good enough to allow most people to run it during the day without worrying about having to recharge it before sleeping. The iRobot HOME App is available on both iOS and Android devices.

The Roomba 970 of iRobot.

If you want a robot vacuum that will automatically empty its own bin and is compatible with Google Home or Amazon Alexa, the Roomba 970 is worth checking out. It utilizes the same advanced navigation system as other recent iRobot vacuums and can recognize stairs. It also has a central camera to scan the floor while it moves and is able to detect walls, furniture and other obstacles to ensure that it doesn't bump into things. It can also use a virtual wall tool to define boundaries that the robot can't over.

One of the biggest differences between this model and previous Roomba models is that it utilizes a lithium-ion battery rather than the nickel metal hydride batteries found in older ones. It can now run longer between charges and has greater endurance in cleaning sessions. It's not as quick as the Shark AI best robot vacuum mop self empty but it can navigate a space with ease.

The 970, as with the other models of the 960 series can be controlled by the iRobot App and can connect to the Wi-Fi network without any setup needed. It has a small handle on its front that you can use to manually return it to its charger and a spot-cleaning button lets you concentrate on a specific area of your home. The 960 robots utilize the same three-stage process as the other iRobot machines, combining the power-lifting and agitation to clean the floor thoroughly and get rid of dirt.

The 960 is a great choice for carpets that are clean and can pick up a great deal of dust, hair and other debris, thanks to its brushrolls and powerful suction. However, it struggles with carpet with high pile and will leave a bit of sand in its tunnel. It has a decent-sized dirt storage compartment and will let you know when it's filled, either via the app or a light that appears on top of the robot. It can be programmed to clean up on a regular basis and we found it simple to set this up during our tests.
