1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a sturdy and well-built machine that does an excellent job vacuuming bare floors. It has a huge dirt compartment on the outside that automatically fills up into the docking station once it's full and resumes cleaning when it's recharged. It's efficient in removing medium and small debris from bare floors, though it struggles with pet hair and is a major cause of cost of maintenance.

This model, similar to the i3 EVO uses iRobot’s iAdapat navigation software to understand and remember your home. It has a feature which automatically adjusts the suction power and the height of the head depending on what type of floor it is working on.

It was a success in our tests on both hard floors and low-pile, removing the majority of the smaller, less difficult debris that we deposited on each surface, and the larger crumbs of cereal we deposited on the floor. It's not as adept at handling pet hair than some of the top models we've tested however, and it might become stuck on cords or toys in the event that you don't clean them up prior to sending the robot out to clean.

In our tests, it cleaned for about 90 minutes before the battery went out and then returned to the base. It was more efficient than the i7+ and s9+, which both ran for only 60 minutes in our tests. The i3+ EVO also has an excellent record of remembering where it left off on the same run, which isn't always the case with other robots we've examined.

The i3+ EVO's trash bin has capacity of 1.5 quarts, which is smaller than most of the other bagless self-cleaning robots we test. It has a release button on the side of the bin that you press to empty it. You can also empty the bin with the docking station's Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal. It collects the contents of the bin's internal dustbin, and then empties it into the station's dirt bag.

2. Eureka Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro offers outstanding cleaning efficiency, with 5,500pa suction and mopping systems that can get to work within a few minutes. The 770ml water tank and dustbin reduce the frequency of emptying, and its large capacity permits longer mopping sessions. Its 240-minute runtime makes it an excellent option for homes with larger spaces. The robot's advanced navigation technology, based on PreciSense LiDAR mapping ensures that it covers the entire space and can maneuver around obstacles.

Contrary to other robot vacuums like the Q5 Pro does not require Wi-Fi to function. Its battery is not very long lasting, so you'll need to charge frequently if you plan to use the robot for a longer period of time. It is easy to maintain using an easy-to-clean dirtbag that can be replaced easily and a simple schedule of maintenance. It is also a bit cheaper than its more expensive rivals.

The Q5 Pro is a bit cautious when it comes to larger debris and pet hair, however, it does a great job overall. In our tests, it eliminated more debris from floors and carpets with low pile than the Dirt Devil Endura Max, though it struggled to get into the tight corners and receding areas of carpets with high pile. It's also more mobile and its filtration system does an excellent job of capturing allergens. The straight suction floorhead of the vacuum is low for bulky or medium-sized debris. It also has some minor drawbacks such as its lack of advanced features and limited functionality of the remote control. Eureka Q5 Pro, despite its limitations, is a great option for those who are looking for a basic robot vacuum with mopping capabilities.

3. SwitchBot K10 Plus

If you're looking for a smart vacuum cleaner with the ability to mop, the SwitchBot K10 Plus is an excellent option. The small robot has a small size that lets it get into narrow spaces like corners and under furniture that larger robots can't reach. It also has a sophisticated LiDAR sensor that can recognize obstacles and avoid collisions.

During our testing during testing, the K10 Plus quickly and efficiently cleaned up pet hair, crumbs, and other debris from our carpeting and hardwood flooring. It also was able to get into tight spaces like under our beds or around the legs of our chairs. In addition to vacuuming, it can perform mopping tasks with an additional cloth or wet wipe. The K10 Plus comes with a small bag of wet wipes to get you going.

The application for the K10 Plus is intuitive and easy to use. It offers several customization options including setting a zero disruption time, adjusting the layout of the map, and setting a schedule for when you want it to clean. The app monitors the lifespan of your accessories such as the side brush, sensor, and bin filter. This helps you to know when to replace the items.

The battery life of the K10 Plus is also pretty good. With a full battery we could get three hours of cleaning. It also charges fairly quickly. When it's finished with its work, it ejects the dirt into a large dustbin that is located in its base station. It can be very loud, but not as loud as other robot vacuums that we've tested.

4. iRobot Roomba S9+

iRobot Roomba S9+ is part of the company's premium S Series lineup above models like the iRobot Roomba j7 and iRobot Roomba i3. It is very good in navigating furniture and performs well on different surfaces. Its main brushroll features counter rotating rubber scrapers that effectively clean most particles, including pet hair, from carpets and floors. The suction power in real-world use is impressive for a robot vacuum but doesn't quite match the power of top brands like the Roborock S8.

The Roomba S9+'s design is definitely elegant with a body that is D-shaped that appears more modern than its circular counterparts. This shape helps it to reach corners and along edges more easily. It will still create dust in these areas if you don't turn the corner brush in a fast enough manner. However, its powerful motor is more than enough to make up for it.

In iRobot's tests, the S9+ was able to remove pet hair and cat litter with ease. It also did exceptionally well on hard floors, as it made use of its powerful motor to power through all kinds of debris and clean the edges and corners with ease. Its advanced vSLAM technology as well as Imprint Smart Mapping made it one of the top navigators we have. It can make its way under sofas and beds with valances draped over them.

Setting up and operation is easy with the iRobot app. You can choose which functions to start during the initial setup or wait until you've got a better feel for how it works. The internal bin has to be empty manually every now and then when it is full however, the process takes less than 15 seconds and it's fairly quiet.

5. Roborock S8

This latest iteration of the Roborock S series is an impressive robot vacuum self empty bagless vacuum and mop combo with a robust set of features. It uses the LIDAR and camera system to avoid obstacles and navigate, just like its predecessors. The application's mapping engine creates a 3D interactive map of your home, allowing you to designate certain rooms to be spot cleaned or set up no-go zones. The app lets you manage the robot's schedule and choose different mopping and vacuuming modes for each room.

The S8 also boasts enhanced HyperForce suction that can suck up hair and other particles of fine size with ease. The app allows you to adjust the suction power and the device will automatically change between energy-efficient 'Quiet'' 'Balanced,' and 'Turbo' modes depending on the surface it's cleaning. It also has a 'Carpet Suction Boost' mode that boosts suction when the robot is on rugs.

The S8 can be controlled with one button, which also acts as a 'Clean' button for the entire robot, or an 'Spot' Clean button that directs it to a particular area. Press the 'Dock/Home button' for the robot to go to its base station. The app is surprisingly dense feature set and is easy to use. It even lets you choose off-peak times for charging to reduce the cost of utilizing peak-time electricity.

The only drawback to the S8 is that its battery doesn't last longer than it should, allowing only 130 minutes of use when I left it at its default settings with both vacuuming and mopping enabled. This is still a lengthy time, and enough to wash my apartment.
