The D7 is a top-of-the-line model from Neato's robotic vacuum line. It has excellent navigation and is controlled by Alexa or the app. Contrary to other robots that struggle to navigate around rooms without a clear map the D7 utilizes advanced sensors and lasers to create an electronic map of your home. This allows you to set virtual "No-Go" lines by a couple of clicks. The D7 is not able to go into areas it should not (without the use of barrier tape or towers).

The D7's ability to clean is impressive. It can pick up 99.8% of Cheerios that are scattered across the floor. This is a little better than the Roomba i7+, which can only pick up 94.6 percent, and the Shark Ion R85, which only manages to pick up 100%. The D7 can also be able to move smoothly on both carpet and high-pile.

Another nice feature is the ability to choose between two different levels of cleaning. The Eco mode makes the vacuum run more quietly and extends the time of use, while the Turbo mode provides a more efficient cleaning. However Turbo mode operates at an antisocial volume, which can be annoying when you're using the D7 while you're working or watching TV.

The D7 is one of the few robots that are capable of creating and storage of multiple floor plans. This is perfect for multi-level homes. It also comes with a quick boost function that allows it to return to its base, recharge and resume cleaning. This is especially useful when you're cleaning tough areas. Neato's app is simple to use and regularly updated with new features. It is among the cheapest robots available on the market for thick carpets and pet hair.

2. Eufy RoboVac 11S

The Eufy 11S, like the Neato D7 is sleek and low profile. It can fit under couches, beds and coffee tables easier than other robot vacuums. It also comes with a few features that allow it to effectively clean and go where you want it go, like no-go lines you can draw on its virtual maps to keep the robot from removing sensitive areas such as pet bowls or beds. It also comes with an auto-recharge feature and resume that, if it runs out of battery before it is finished cleaning, it will automatically return to its base, recharge it, and return to where it left off.

In our tests, the RoboVac 11S performed much better than its predecessor, eufy RoboVac 30C. It also performed better than the ILIFE A4s and bObsweep Bob Pro, and the ILIFE A4s. The dirt compartment is bigger, it has a longer maximum battery life, and it removes more debris from plain floors to carpets that are high and low-pile. It is also built better and more durable, incurs fewer recurring costs and moves more effectively.

This robot vacuum is not the ideal choice for floors with no carpet. However it is a great option for those who have carpeting that is medium and pets. It makes use of random navigation and sensors in its bumper and underbelly to navigate around obstacles. This isn't as sophisticated as the mapping technology in other robots, but it works well enough and it gets to nooks and crannies that other robots aren't able to reach. It comes with spin brushes to clean up walls, and a 0.6-liter dust bin. It includes an actual remote control that features a monochrome display, charging dock with four side brushes that can be attached two additional filters and a cleaning tool.

3. iLife VS3 Pro

If you own pets, you will need an effective robot vacuum to get rid of pet hair. Even the best robot vacuum mop for pet hair vacuums can struggle with this hair, which clings to rugs and floors. To be clear I test how well robots collect dog and cat hair by determining the amount they can pick up from the floor in a 5-foot-by-5-foot area. I also test how the robot is able to navigate through household terrain. This includes how it maneuvers over thresholds, over tables and furniture, and under the couch. Certain robots are able track their homes with sensors. They can sense their way around, and then create a 3D model of the home. This allows them to avoid obstacles during future cleaning cycles.

The iLife V3s Pro excels at navigating household terrain and is one of the most affordable models we test. It also performed well on my tests to remove pet hair, snagging nearly all of the hair that was sucked from hardwood floors and it only lowered its score a bit when testing on carpet.

In contrast to other robot vacuums, the V3s Pro does not use brushes like the traditional. It instead relies on two side brushes that rotate to loosen and push debris toward a 3-inch opening at its base. This isn't a reliable carpet cleaner, but it's still impressive considering its cost.

The iLife V3s Pro is also capable of mopping. It can do an OK job on plain floors and also picked up fake Christmas tree needles as well as bits of tinsel and crumbles of mud in my mopping tests. That said, it's not as efficient as the top robot mop.

4. Roborock s7

If you are looking for a robot best vacuum and mop for pet hair that has impressive technological capabilities and impressive tech capabilities, the Roborock s7 is a fantastic value. This mid-priced vacuum cleaner performs similarly to high-end models, and is easy to maintain and use. It is equipped with a variety of high-end features, which are similar to those you will find in robots costing twice more. This makes it a great option for someone who is buying for the first time, someone upgrading from an entry-level model or anyone looking to save time and effort while cleaning their home.

This robot is equally home on bare floors as it is on carpet. Its 2,000Pa suction power can handle the toughest carpeting. It's even able to clean pet hair from cracks and crevices on bare floors. It's well-built, maneuvers efficiently and can be used with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands to operate hands-free. Its battery is smaller than some of the other models we've tested, however, it has plenty of juice for the majority of homes.

The s7 is also a good mopping robot. It comes with a 200ml tank filled with water and a mopping pad which can be easily attached to the robot's back. Simply add water and a microfiber cloth, and the s7 will start mopping your floors. Once the mopping process is done the s7 will return to its dock and will shut down automatically.

The companion app is simple to use and has a sleek layout with plenty of functionality. You can draw a home map or set virtual boundaries the s7 can't cross, create 'no go zones, or instruct it to clean one specific room. You can also monitor its performance and access its maintenance history and its current status.

5. Neato Q5 Pro

The Neato Q5 Pro robot vacuum is a versatile machine that is great at cleaning floors that are not clean. It also removes many pieces of dust from both high and low pile carpet. It is incredibly built, has a comprehensive range of navigation options and is easy to maintain. However it has a shorter maximum battery life than other units and incurs more recurring costs.

The Q5 is one of the slowest-moving robots that we've tested, but it has an efficient layout algorithm that doesn't require to be watched over after the first time it traverses a space. It begins by tracing out a perimeter, then fills in the interior using the lines of a series. After it's completed it returns to its charging station or its base if it was able to depart from the base.

It did an excellent job cleaning hardwood floors and sucking up at least 88% of dirt for each test. It struggled more on low- and high-pile carpets however, it performed much better than the standard unit. It also comes with mopping attachments that can remove wet spills. We haven't tested it.

Its maneuverability is superior for a robot equipped with lidar, and it is capable of softly bouncing into furniture and other obstacles. Its navigation system can detect stairs and multiple floors, which allows it to tackle multistory homes. It also can identify specific rooms when you choose them within the app. It can also alter its power level, establish no-go zones, and display the map of the cleaning area. The Q5 can be controlled via the mobile app or through voice commands from Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple Siri.
