The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you are looking for a robotic vacuum and mop that's middle-of-the-road. It offers a great mopping experience, but doesn't have the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.

In tests, it was able to take on dry oats and dust on carpets of medium pile as well as pet hair on hard flooring. It doesn't employ LIDAR, however, as cheaper models do, to map your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the top-rated robots. It has impressive cleaning power and plenty of features that include a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. It can also learn your cleaning habits and suggest automatic schedules to ensure you have a hands-free experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once everything is connected, you can start the automated cleaning functions with the push of the button. You can select a general clean which focuses on the elimination of larger debris such as cereal and rice. You can also select two detailed mappings to ensure that your home is cleaned thoroughly.

This robot vacuum is effective on both floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It can take in large objects and does not lose suction as fast as other models do, and it can even remove pet hair without much difficulty. It does have a hard time with high-pile or plush carpet, however iRobot claims it will get better with future models.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that focuses on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to be able to swaddle walls and furniture. It's a nice improvement over the standard hockey puck shape of the majority of robovacs. However, we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with a superior filter system that prevents microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating in your home. We think it's a nice statement but not enough to justify a premium price.

Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to keep track of the layout of your home and vSLAM to map the interior. It then cleans your entire house efficiently by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundaries so that the robot can determine what areas require extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a machine that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those of higher-end models, and its mopping system is superior, as its spinning pads do a much better job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibrating pad.

The only issue is that it doesn't have an additional rubber brush to provide more thorough cleaning, but that's an affordable cost to pay for if you want to get one of the best affordable robot vacuum mop robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank is also larger than many of its rivals and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even with the maximum dirt level.

For the mopping device, I was impressed with its ability to scrub tough dirt from my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest, which are less aggressive than the higher-powered ones generate little noise, allowing you to work or even watch television without interruption. It will gently bump into furniture or walls, and then move on when it encounters one.

What really distinguishes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly autonomously with very little need for human intervention. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical garbage into the bin hidden in the background, as well as washes and dry the mop pads, and refills its clean water tank. The app will only alert you when something is wrong, such as low water levels or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to an empty bin.

You can also create or merge rooms to alter the way Q Revo handles your home. That's a handy feature if you have multiple rooms in your home that have different floor materials or if there's clutter that needs to be removed regularly, such as clothes, toys and books. The robo-vac is also efficient and was one of the top performers in my tests, picking up debris from both carpets and hardwood floors in the first attempt. It can even remove wet spills, though I recommend cleaning them off using a clean cloth before bringing the best robot vacuum and mop under $500 into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a premium robot vacuum and mop and more. It comes with an omni-rotating mop as well as a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with a self-cleaning station that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads, keeping them fresh and ready for reuse. It also comes with a sensor that recognizes obstacles better which allows it to avoid falling on furniture or other objects.

The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model is sleeker and more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best affordable robot vacuum mop known for Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet tall and deep and weighs almost four pounds--the robot itself and its base are much less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This version is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and cleans 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a larger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant and an app that can be used even when you're at home. It also comes with more mopping modes and a smart routing feature that allows you to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead just following a specific path.

The X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any best robot vacuum for mopping we've tested because of its mop pads rotating to scrub away tough stains and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding as well, and it boosts suction when it detects carpet to ensure it's doing an excellent job. It also has a massive battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as effective as anything we've seen in the market for a consumer robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a top-quality model that comes with a variety of features that aren't often found on robots in this price range. It can make detailed floor maps and detect different types of flooring. It's also one of the few robots that can automatically clean and dry its mop pad. But while these functions are nice to have, they also put the L10s Ultra in the luxury category, which might make it a little more expensive than some homeowners need.

The front of the machine is dominated by a large bumper, which helps protect furniture and the vacuum from damage while moving around the home. The L10s Ultra offers solid vacuuming performance which clears 98.4 percent of the debris from our hard-floor test and removing all but the most stubborn juice stain. Its mops are also quite efficient, removing 98.4% of debris on our tile, wood, and carpet tests. It was not as effective in removing sand from our hard floor or quaker oatmeal from the carpet.
