Sian Welby is set to make her return to broadcasting this summer, just weeks after giving birth to her baby girl Ruby.

The presenter, 37, will be returning to TV screens quicker than anticipated, as it has been announced that the new mum will be fronting some of the summer episodes of ITV's This Morning while hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard take a seven-week break.

Sian and her fiancé Jake Beckett welcomed Ruby, who is their first child, in June and Sian has since said that becoming a mother is the 'best thing she's ever done'.

Although the Capital Radio star is yet to announce the details of when she gave birth to her newborn, she revealed that Ruby had arrived in an Instagram post on June 29.

Sharing her joyful baby news alongside a slew of adorable snaps, Sian wrote: 'Our little Ruby [love heart emojis]'.

In early June, Sian confirmed Jordan North will replace her as This Morning's showbiz correspondent as she headed off on maternity leave.

The TV star marked her final day with the announcement as she admitted: 'I think I've pushed it as far as I can before I pop.'

During her last appearance on the ITV daytime show before she gives birth to a baby girl, host Ben Shephard said: 'First it's time for the latest showbiz news, Sian is here, for your very last date with us before you go off to pop.'

Sian replied: 'Yes, exactly, which I think I've pushed as far as I can without going into labour on this sofa!'

She continued: 'I know the showbiz news needs to be left in good hands and somebody that deals with showbiz stories every morning and actually works alongside me most mornings when I am doing the radio…

'This is the handover of all handovers! I really think this is the perfect guy for the job, I work with him every morning and he's fantastic. It is Jordan North everybody!'

To viewers' delight, Sian returned to the studio virtually on July 1, in her first remote TV appearance after giving birth

She said: 'I am tired, delirious, but is the best thing I have ever done. I am absolutely over the moon!'

She said: 'I am tired, delirious, but is the best thing I have ever done. I am absolutely over the moon.

'I am loving every second despite it being carnage at times. Jake was actually filming me at the time when I held her and I said: ''I can't believe I'm meeting you it feels like a dream!''

She went on to reveal that she ended up having an emergency c-section after initially planning a water birth.

Sian explained: 'I said I will do whatever is the safest delivery for the baby.

'I was planning a water birth but ended up having an emergency c-section. I felt so safe I was in amazing hands. The midwives are actually incredible but obviously I'm feeling quite sore.'

On her supportive partner Jake she added: 'He is such a natural - you do fall in love with your partner all over again. He has taken over when he needed to.

'He has supported me when I needed to and supported me when I was emotional.'
