Which Lightweight Double Pushchair Should You Buy?

The majority of the lightweight double pushchairs we've tested are side-by-side models and are generally recommended for kids who can sit up unassisted because they tend to be lacking car seat integration. However there are some exceptions. Thule Urban Glide 2 Double and Baby Trend Sit 'N Stand Double are both top choices that have recline that can be adjusted in both seats, a large canopy and padded 5-point harnesses. They're also easy to move despite their larger footprint and are great for parents who are worried about fitting through doorways.

And if they're taller than each other, a tandem model could be more suitable for them since it will allow them to confront each other.

Tandem

While side-by-side models are more appropriate for siblings with similar ages, tandem lightweight double pushchairs are a different kind of pushchair with their own appeal. Tandem lightweight double pushchairs will generally make more precise turns than side-byside models, but they can be more difficult to drive over uneven surfaces and curbs. They are also a little slower to accelerate and may be heavier to move, which can put strain on your back.

It's important to remember that these types of strollers aren't as adept at walking through the narrow aisles of supermarkets, and may struggle to handle a large amount of shopping. Although it's much easier to turn the stroller around on a narrow, curving path, this can be a challenge. Some are easier to turn than others, such as the Thule Urban Glide 2 Double or Baby Trend Sit N' Stand Double.

Convertible

Convertible double pushchairs are ideal because they can be adjusted to the changing requirements of the family.
