In response to the suggestion, the Home Treatment Team performed a comprehensive assessment of Miss Kelly's current functioning and mental state. The review included a thorough medical history and physical exam. It also involved a detailed assessment of the psychological and family therapy and a psychiatric diagnostic assessment.

According to the report, Miss Kelly was suffering from a variety of mental health problems, including borderline personality disorder, bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa. She had also been victimized by her husband and was a drug addict. Her symptoms were caused by anxiety, stress and depression. She was also diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder as well as schizophrenia-related disorder.

Elayaperumal claims Medtronic discriminated against him intentionally because of his race or national origin.
